Now, the fifth step in validating your business idea is to speak directly to your intended audience. In the past, I have talked about possible venues for you to practice your speaking topic. In that post, I also committed to educating other healthcare professionals on the value of pharmacist-led MTM, which I have done and will continue to do.
But, I am here to tell you, if you are waiting for someone to give you permission to stand up and speak about your ideas, then you will be waiting a very long time.
Fight back that imposter syndrome and take the fifth step in validating your business idea!
5. Speak on Your Expertise
Educating others on your topic will build your confidence and give you authority on your subject. Speaking is a great way to get in front of potential customers.
For example, presenting to a Rotary club or local business group is a great way to gain experience and share your message. In the case of marketing MTM services directly to cash-paying patients, you should develop an educational presentation that caters to patients in retirement communities or even community pharmacies.
Presentations are a great way to validate your business idea and hone your communication skills. It is also a great way to test your own interest in a subject. If you aren’t excited enough about a subject to easily talk about it for an hour, move on.
Look for a subject you could literally talk about all day.
