Usually, our biggest critic is ourself.
I wondered, why isn’t my business taking off yet?
Why does it always seem to take longer than I expect to reach my goals?
And, for me anyway, it comes back to my unrealistic expectations.
I’ve seen pharmacists with AMAZING clinical skills quit before they even gave their business a chance to work.
I’ll be honest, building a business takes TIME.
Generally, Academy members on average take between 6-8 months to really reach the ‘tipping point’ in getting their business off the ground.
Once it happens, though, it is a beautiful thing to watch.
One of my 1:1 coaching clients experienced this recently. After getting her foot in the door after months of patiently waiting, is now surpassing the 6-month goals we set for her Chronic Care Management program in JUST TWO MONTHS!
On our last call, I encouraged her to start thinking about using some of her laid-off colleagues as sub-contractors so she could continue to scale the program (and there’s even another provider that wants her help now too!).
That’s when I introduced her to the world of Scaling Your Business.
On Day 5 of the Elevate Pharmacy Virtual Summit, I spoke with my personal business attorney Danielle Liss and my friend Linda Miller about leadership and hiring of staff.
Many pharmacists, when they reach this point will quickly see the unique expertise they have to offer and will choose to go ‘all in’ on that skill.
Suzanne Feeney and Diana Isaacs provide some great examples of how we can be more mindful about being lifelong learners as well as representing our profession on a grander scale.
And finally, once your business systems and staff members are in place, you can turn on the “faucet” of leads Dan Ryder and Alex Alendandrou talks about through the use of digital media.
